League Details
The Wednesday League is played on Braemar’s Championship course and begins when weather allows, usually late April or early May and continues for roughly 20 weeks. 3 weeks of playoffs will follow the regular season.
This league is for the lower handicap player and is limited to players with handicaps of 12 or less. The maximum handicap is 6 strokes for 9 holes. Play is “match play only”.  Current handicaps are used and the two low handicaps and the two high handicaps from each team play each other. Match points are awarded as follows.
  • Two points (1 for tie) to the winner of each match.
  • Two points for team low net (1 each for tie)

In this league, we sign up as individuals and the league coordinator creates 3 member teams to ensure balanced handicaps. REQUESTS TO PLAY WITH OTHER MEMBERS WILL BE CONSIDERED AND, IF HANDICAPS ALLOW, WILL BE HONORED. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PLAY WITH ANOTHER BMC MEMBER PLEASE CONTACT THE COORDINATORS WITH YOUR REQUEST.

The league plays a round robin season with the top 8 teams advancing to the single elimination playoffs.
League Capacity is 78. There are 26 teams with 3 players per team. 13 Teams in each of 2 Divisions. Existing Members know this league fills quickly so please get your registration in early.
You must have a valid, current GHIN handicap.
The team rosters and schedules will be finalized in early April and emailed to you when they are ready.
2022 Season Recap

It was yet another thrilling season for the Wednesday league with some spirited play, great weather and wonderful camaraderie.

The top point earners in the regular season was the squad of Corrick/Forsman/Gray followed by Jensen/Pederson/Chaska.  Their solid play over 13 weeks made them the bookmaker favorites in London, Qatar, and Ned’s self-serve outside Tulsa, OK.  But as fate always has it, top seeds often find it tough to advance through the grueling 4-round playoff season, and true to form, neither made it to the semi-finals.

In the culmination of a great post season, the team of Eiswirth/Murdock/Wong went all 9 holes before topping Bloomquist/Reeves/Sprague.

We were thrilled to have ESPN8 (“The Ocho”) once again covering both regular season and playoff matches – squeezing the league into an already packed schedule that included collegiate axe throwing, Caribbean cornhole tournaments, the World Air Hockey championships, and nocturnal cliff diving.

I’m pleased to say that 83% of players were “in the money” through payoffs for the regular season, playoffs, weekly closest to the pin contests, and the much loved shootout for teams not making the playoffs.

Here’s to another great season in 2023.
