Readers of this page will know that two BMC members shot their ages earlier this year, and congrats
continue to go out to Gene Haman and Tony Melin for their rare achievements. But after a more
thorough review, something extraordinary has come to light. It turns out that we have a BMC member
who has consistently shot his age any number of times over the course of the year. And, as many of you
will have guessed, his name is Bob Devereaux.
Bob is a 20+ year member of the BMC and he’s still going strong at 95 years old. Through his play in
Thursday League, as well as Saturday rounds, ABCD matches and events, Bob has carded numerous
scores this season in the 80s and low 90s. And if you frequent the driving range, the practice green or
the practice chipping areas, you will doubtless have seen Bob, since he’s out there regularly working on
his game.
Congrats to Bob on his outstanding play this year! He’s an inspiration to everyone who loves the great game of golf.
