In September 2019, the BMC converted our organizational status to that of a Minnesota nonprofit corporation, so that our new web site could process financial transactions, including, particularly, payment of member dues, costs of events, etc. To effect this conversion, we filed Articles of Incorporation with the Minnesota Secretary of State (available to view below) and amended our Bylaws. Bylaw amendments covered, among other things, election of board members, holding of annual member meetings, and other changes. Some additional technical amendments to the Bylaws were approved by the Board in September 2020. The current Bylaws are available to view below. We have also filed with the IRS to have our status as a tax-exempt organization confirmed for federal income tax purposes. Confirmation from the IRS was obtained in 2020.
