The 4-Man Over-70 Team, like the 8-Man Team, plays matches against senior golfers from other local clubs, there’s just a bit more seniority required to qualify. In this format, two 2-man teams from each squad face off in each competition. As with the 8-Man competitions, these are best ball, gross score matches.

Introduced in 2024 by the MPGA, the 4-Man competition caught on immediately. With teams playing two matches per month, the two teams with the best records in their division following regular season play enter a play-off match to determine the divisional champion. In the inaugural 2024 season, Braemar lost a tie-breaker with the University team to just miss out on a spot in the championship match.

Bob Peterson, who captains Braemar’s 4-Man Team, creates the line-ups for each match. If you’re over 70 and are interested in more information, reach out to Bob at the email above or by calling 952-843-3636.

2025 Results

In the second year of this best ball format for those over 70, the organizers put us in the B division after our 3rd place finish the first year. We finished 2nd in our division with one loss: 4-2 at Monticello. We then played Monticello in home-home playoff. We tied at Monticello 3-3 and won at home 4.5- 1.5. This gave us a 7.5-4.5 win and the Class B championship. Playing in the playoffs were Mike Kavanaugh, Bill Angel, John Miller and  Bob Peterson. Dick Helde and Tom Russell participated during the regular season.
