The 16 man matches are comprised of the lowest handicap players available between two competing public golf clubs. Each golf club compiles eight 2-man teams to compete in a fourball format against another golf clubs best players. Last season was very successful for Braemar considering we took home the championship in the 16-man B division. But this is a new season with new challenges and increased competition electing to move up to the 16-man A division.
Sunday May 2nd was the start of the 16-man MPGA Season. The weather was great considering early May in Minnesota and the scoring conditions matched the weather. Unfortunately, the Braemar team could not take advantage. Brookview edged out Braemar by a score of 10-14. Mike Wangen had the signature round shooting a 67 and took 2.5 points paired up with Alexander Hintz. The Team of Ryan Vaterlaus and Steven Kraft also took a respectable 2 out of 3 point.
