Braemar fields three traveling teams that compete against other metro area teams each year. As reported earlier on this page, Braemar’s 16-Man Team lost a thriller against Chaska in their opening match and would have needed to beat Chaska at Chaska to advance. But, despite fielding one of the best, if not the very best, teams in our 16-Man history, Chaska once again prevailed at home. Our very talented 16-Man Team will now need to wait until next year to display their considerable capabilities.
But the golf gods have not been fickle with all our traveling teams. Take, for instance, our 8-Man Senior Team.
To date Braemar’s Senior Team has played three matches. And all three have been wins: on May 2, at Braemar, we beat Pheasant Acres 7-5; on May 16, at Pheasant Acres, we won 6.5-5.5; and on June 6, at Braemar, we beat Baker National 7-5.
Nice work, Senior Team! We’re currently tied with Meadowbrook in our division, both teams being 3-0. The top two teams in the division advance to the playoffs in August.
