2025 Spring Stag Results
Yesterday, May 19th, nearly 100 of your BMC comrades (along with a sprinkling of guests) gathered at Medina Golf and Country Club for a day of golf competition camaraderie. Over the past several years, having held this event on basically the exact same date, the weather had always cooperated. For this year, not so much.
The sun slept. Woke up for maybe 15 minutes about half way through and went back to napping. The temps barely scratched the 60 mark. Couple that with the almost constant 20+ mph winds and it goes without saying that the golf was challenging. In the pics that follow, you’ll note that skull caps and gloves were prevalent and no one wore shorts (I take that back. A couple of extremely warm blooded golfers did.) Boggles the mind.
On to the details. In the Gross Division, we had a 4 way tie at the top at +2. After a lengthy tie-breaking process courtesy of the Golf Genius Geniuses it was determined that team Olson, Neudigate, Schwien and Swiatkiewicz (you’re on your own for that pronounciation) take the title.

L to R: Nick Neudigate, Matt Olson and Chris Swiatkiewicz. Scott Schwien had to go trim his beard. My apologies for amateurish photography. Should have used flash.
For a shout out to the others, I’ll make it brief. The others at +2 were team Gaylord, Gould, Scanlon, Sierra. The Cruikshank crew, and the infamous Friends of Miller. Rounding out the top 5 was me. With a huge hole from Eric Scholl tapping in for net eagle late in the day. I got a few sleeves, with an assist from Mr. Neudigate’s unused gift card. Thanks Nick.
On to the Net Event. One stroke separated 1st from 2nd. Team Cripps, Hasper, Hasper and Molloy edged team Erickson, Hellickson, Lawless and Ling to take the Net honors.

L to R: Steve Molloy, Greg Hasper, Andrew Cripps. John Hasper had to go hone his pool game skills.
Special shout out
Please thank the board members for their dedication to providing a great event.

L to R: Mark Schmidt, event Chair, less colorful than usual. Pat Logan, man of many linguistic talents and the occasional hand injury. Jon Whitcomb, man with no hand injury but plenty of hand warmth but still had to visit the warming house multiple times, and Phil Jirsa, event co-chair and under appreciated website guru who has made my life simpler. Thanks especially to the rocks that held down the papers.
