On Friday May 8th, 48 of us teed it up on the Academy 9 in the inaugural version of The Icebreaker. This event was intended to provide a quick (only 9 holes), inexpensive (only $25 for the Entry Fee) and fun way to kick off the BMC season. Every tee shot and every putt was worth something as prize money was on the table on every hole for closest to’s and longest putts. After the round on the upper deck, there were smiles all around and a consensus Thumbs Up to do this again next year. Below are the winners. Congrats to all!!!

We are excited to present The Icebreaker, our first annual event at the Academy 9! Knock off the rust on Friday, May 8 with a 2:00 PM Shotgun start on Braemarโs nine-hole par 3 course. This is a low-cost individual event and fun way to get back into the swing of things, with closest to the pin and longest putt prizes on every hole, and overall prizes for 1st and 2nd place scores (gross and net scores). Itโs looking like a shootout.
Hit some darts, drain some putts, and commiserate/celebrate with your fellow BMC Members while grabbing a beverage at Red River Kitchen after your round. Space is limited to 48 players, so reserve your spot when registration opens!

2026 Event Details
Date and Time: Friday May 8th, 2026. 2:00 shotgun start. Check in begins at 12:30PM.
Location: Academy 9 at Braemar.
Registration: Will open on March 1st and will close on April 29th. Limited to the 1st 48 entrants.
Format: Individual event with multiple winners in both Gross and Net divisions. Plus, closest to the pin and longest putt on every hole!
Entry Fee: $25 which includes:
- 9 hole green fee
- Range Balls
- Sleeve of Balls
- Multiple Gross and Net winners
- Skill Contests
- Golf Genius scoring
Additional Information:
- This is a Member Only event.
- All players will use the White Tees.
- Carts will not be used. Walkers only.
- You can request players to be in your foursome during registration.
