2025 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS

We are proud to present the results of the 57th BMC Club Championships. Our congratulations go out to Drew Gumlia for capturing his first Club Championship and the coveted Pat Sawyer Trophy…recall he finished second last year losing a playoff. His first round 75 was angering! Ordinarily a walker, he said I’m taking a cart on Sunday and torched the course with a 68 finishing the two days at -1. Well done Drew!

Congratulations to Jeff Roseland on defending his Senior Championship from 2024. While he cruised to a 6-shot win last year with a scintillating 70-67, this year was a different story. His rounds of 71-75 earned him a T1 with Tim Smith and Rick Passolt whom he outlasted in a 3-hole sudden death playoff. See you next year for a chance at the 3-peat!

And congratulations to Chris Reeves who captured his first Men’s Flight title in a 2-hole playoff over defending champion Dave Matlock with rock solid rounds of 77-78 from the E Tees! The Senior Flight crowned a familiar champion in Dick Helde…winner in 2021 and 2022 and 2nd place last year. …that’s not luck. The Super Senior division keeps turning out new champs and nostalgic scores from the N Tees. 28-year member Mike Kavanaugh tied Tom Sampson’s course record on Saturday with 68 that included 7 birdies. It was Mike’s first win since claiming the Club Championship back in 2004. And props to all top Men’s Club finishers on some really great golf…and to everyone who competed. Lastly, thanks to the entire staff at Braemar Golf Course for providing terrific event management, excellent course conditions, great food & beverage, and for allowing BMC to conduct our Club Championship while running its own…we’re quite fortunate.

Details

Please join fellow members for the Annual BMC & BGC Club Championships August 2-3. We are privileged to participate in Braemar’s premier event. BMC Members will join eligible BGC participants in a uniquely beneficial format. Members who sign up for the BGC Club Championship will also be registered for the BMC Club Championship and eligible to place in both events (sample scenario below).Both organizations will award their respective top finishers.

As was the case last year, the BMC Club Championship will be played in conjunction with Braemar Golf Course Club Championship. This means you can enter 2 tournaments for the price of 1. When you register for the Club Championship, you are playing for prize money offered by both events, for 1 entry fee.

The tournament includes divisions for Men, Women, and Juniors. The Men begin Saturday August 2nd with all divisions competing on Sunday August 3rd. Braemar Golf Course will provide tee sheets, score-keeping, unlimited range balls, and a challenging course set-up. Lunch and Beverages will served both days courtesy of Red River Kitchen Food Truck.

Tee Times: From 7:00am-1:00pm both days

Cost: $179 and includes green fees, cart, range balls, prizes, and lunch both days by Red River Kitchen

Format: Individual Stroke Play

Flights:

Men’s Championship Flight – Gross Only (Championship Tees)

Men’s Flight – Gross & Net (E Tees)

Men’s Senior Championship Flight – Gross Only (D Tees). Age 55 and over.

Men’s Senior Flight – Gross and Net (I Tees). Age 55 and over.

Men’s Super Senior Flight – Gross and Net (N Tees). Age 65 and over for BMC Members only.

BMC Awards: Men’s Championship flight is awarded by BMC with winner added to the Past Champions Board.

Gross winners from all flights receive a traveling trophy. Gross and Net winners from all flights receive Braemar Golf Course gift credits on their account courtesy of our sponsoring organizations.

BGC Awards: Men’s Championship and Men’s Senior Championship flights are awarded by Braemar Golf Course with winners added to the Past Champions Board. Gross and Net winners from all flights receive Braemar Golf Course Merchandise Gift Cards.

Eligibility: Open to all current BMC Members with a GHIN Handicap at Braemar Golf Course as of July 29.

Club Champion – Nick Neudigate. He shot 75 day one and rocked day 2 with a 69. 2 day score of 144, Even Par. Won playoff on the first hole against Drew Gumlia, who shot 71-73. Defending Champ Nick Adams and Former Champ Mike Wangen tied for 3rd at 144. More to follow in the days ahead.

The 56th BMC Club Championship, the overall winner receiving the coveted Pat Sawyer Trophy, will be played on Saturday and Sunday, August 3rd and 4th.
